My current project involves making major changes to a large system. I really needed modeling software to help me visualize the system. I like ModelRight 3 very much. It's much better than MySQL Workbench 5.0 or fabFORCE DBDesigner 4. Plus, the support is superb! ModelRight has already paid for itself and I will be using it in all my future database applications. ModelRight is such an appropriate name, it really is "modeling done right".

I recently started working as an independent database consultant. I originally purchased the ModelRight 3 as a cost effective alternative to ERwin - which I had used for years. I have been using ModelRight 3 for the past few months on projects for several clients. Over the holidays, I was trying to get caught up on an aggressive deliverable. While making model changes, I ran into a ‘bug’ that prevented me from changing column defaults. I reported it and assumed that it would be awhile until the product was fixed. So I managed to come up with a less than optimal work around.
Less than 24 hours later, I received an email that the issue had been corrected and a new build was available.
I was simply amazed with the turn around and responsiveness in getting the problem resolved.

Having started a new position with a company that did not have a standard modeling tool and only required MySQL support, I needed a modeling tool that would adequately support MySQL. After 2 months of searching the "free" and "shareware" tools along with many homegrown packages, I was very disappointed in the offerings. Most of the tools I reviewed did not have a complete set of features required to adequately develop and maintain professional databases. Not even from MySQL itself.
Then I came across ModelRight. So I downloaded it and put it thru its paces. I was delighted that it offered everything I deemed necessary to design and build robust, professional quality data models with literally no special workarounds required. Needless to say, I had found my new data modeling tool that I had looking for so long.
As anadded bonus, all my questions and issues that I submitted via the website and online support were answered within a few hours and in most cases in the same day.
In my opinion, ModelRight is a must for anyone that is designing databases and creating data models in any serious capacity. I recommend that anyone that needs to support, design, or maintenance a MySQL database download and evaluate ModelRight.
