Princeton, N.J. (Sept. 25, 2007): Modelright Inc., developer of the Modelright for Oracle database design tool, announced today it has released a new version of its software that provides database designers with a greatly expanded suite of tools, including enhanced ability to review and access objects and related objects in their databases. Modelright 2.0 also adds support for MySQL  5.0/5.1 on top of the company’s support for Oracle databases, the focus of its initial release earlier this year.

“Effective database modeling is about being able to model even the smallest details of highly complex databases,” said Tim Guinther, a founder of the company.  “We have built a very innovative user interface with easy navigation that enables database designers to access any object in the database in multiple ways.”

In addition to the enhanced navigation and improved suite of tools, Modelright 2.0 also has a number of improvements designed to make database designers’ jobs easier. Selected new features include:

·         greatly improved product speed in the areas of database compare, model compare and reverse engineering

·         expanded diagramming options, giving Modelright 2.0 users more options in this area than any other database design tool

·         the ability to modify diagram behavior via scripting

·         reporting via XSLT

·         enhancements to the user interface based on the latest Windows themes and styles

·         the ability to insert and format notes

“We listened to our customers after the release of Modelright 1.0. They wanted support for MySQL, the most popular open-source database, which is now a great complement to our Oracle support,” said Guinther.  “We’re confident a new group of users will find this latest release very helpful when dealing with complex designs.”
